Dallas, Texas has a lot to offer. Barbecue. The Reunion Tower. The Stars and the Texans. And, of course, the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden with over 60-acres of beautiful vegetation and attractions.
Every few months the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden come up with new and exciting exhibits that educate us in amazing ways. When I asked a Ducks fan where I should go in Dallas her first question was, “have you ever seen over 90,000 pumpkins?”
90,000. Pumpkins? No. Of course not. “There’s a pumpkin display at the Dallas Arboretum that’s going to change your life.” A pumpkin patch changing my life? Challenge accepted. *Spoiler Alert* It did, in fact, change my pumpkin-less life.
I don’t know what I expected, maybe a pumpkin here or pumpkin there, but what I got was an amazing display of the best parts of autumn. Not only were there pumpkins, squash, and gourds of all sizes, shapes, and colors perfectly placed on display, there were also over 150,000 autumn flowers built into sculptures that brightened the display and created great pops of color and made the display a sight to see.
Talking to the Forehand from the Arboretum, I learned that this exhibit was a yearly occurrence that keeps getting better. Each year, the staff has to come up with something new and exciting to give their visitors an autumn to remember.
With 54 different varieties of pumpkins, squash, and gourds, attendees are guaranteed to see something new around every corner. For over 14 years, the Arboretum has provided a fun fall festival for Dallas. Over a month and a half of planning goes into creating the best pumpkin display in Texas.
How many more pumpkins can they fit? Only the sky is the limit.
You can learn more about the Arboretum here. The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden has seasonal displays all throughout the year. If you have the time to come down to the Arboretum, you may be surprised at what the amazing displays and gorgeous grounds have to offer you.
Until next time, friends!
